Hey! Welcome to the monthly report here on TranscriptionPro.net!
I write this monthly report to:
- Keep track of my earnings
- Hopefully encourage other freelance transcriptionists
- Keep track of my progress as a freelance transcriptionist
- Be open to you, as to how difficult or easy freelancing really is!
My Income Streams
I have two main income streams, as of now. One is from Google Adsense. I use Adsense of some of my websites like this one. Although my income from Adsense is modest it still pays for the hosting costs for the websites.
And the other income stream obviously is from freelance transcription works. This is what I want to focus on here. This is the stream which has a lot of potential. As I’ve said before, there are lots of people making money online. And, if you want to do the same, the answer is not to replicate what they do but to rather utilize your own skill sets to make money online.
That’s why I think developing and utilizing my transcription skills to make money online is the way for me.

Important Development(s) in August 2011
- A friend, let’s call her Linda, a legal transcriptionist in UK, a business partner of hers and I have been talking. I don’t know what will come out of these talks but I am pretty optimistic. So watch this space for more in the coming months!
- A couple of transcriptionists in New Delhi have contacted me. They are actually interested in setting up their own transcription business. One even talked about setting up a transcription company in Manipur!
- I have been reading The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman and loving it! Other books I read in August include By the River Piedro I sat Down and Wept by Paulo Coelho and The Company of Women by Khushwant Singh.
Lessons Learned
- Like attracts like: I can see the law of attraction manifesting itself again and again. For example I came across Linda, the freelance legal transcriptionist in UK on, I think, LinkedIn and ever since we have kept in touch on Facebook. We don’t have a plan yet but we both want the same thing. We both love our jobs; we both want to do more about it too. The same is with those transcriptionists from New Delhi. They are high capable individuals who are thinking about going freelance and doing their own transcription business. Now, I’d like to believe that I have attracted these guys because I am of the same mind. We share the same or similar thoughts and visions. And talking to them is always very interesting and easy because we can relate to each other’s situations very well.
Income Breakdown
- Google Adsense: $52.33
- Freelance Transcription: $200 approx.
Total: $252.33

I absolutely agree with like attracting like, and also when you’re in a positive mindset good things happen!
Love the idea of your montjly report and will keep checking in on your progress.
Thanks for stopping by Bridie!
Glad you love the idea of my monthly report.
Sometimes I fear, I might dissuade people from going freelance with my reports, instead of inspiring them!! What if one day I have to publish 0 income!! It’s possible!!
Hi! I would like to start my own transcription business at home, but am not sure about how to start, especially about the charges. I am unemployed at this time and would like to get started before my unemployment insurance runs out. There are transcription companies looking for transcriptionists, but usually they want the ones that have experience with freelancing. I am going to subscribe to your reports. I’m glad I found you. Thanks,
Marta
Marta, thanks for subscribing.
All the best!
Hey there, is this the last transcription report you made, or am I missing the recent ones?
Thanks,
Sean
Yes Sean, I have stopped posting the monthly reports (for the time being?)….
